Welcome to Mr. Cheray's Classroom

Welcome back for another year of instrumental music at Holy Cross! I am excited what the year will bring; we are returning with a veteran group, and a new 5th grade class. I look forward to musical growth and challenging those musical abilities both individually and collectively.

Class Objectives

To gain a fundamental knowledge of your instrument, To develop a sense of teamwork as an ensemble, To complete group-small and large- as well as individual musical works which challenge students musically, To gain a basic knowledge of rudimentary skills, such as scales/arpeggio’s/chords, To begin an understanding of basic improvisation and how it relates to all periods of music, To begin learning basic skills in composition, To enjoy making music, To continually grow spiritually, using God-given gifts and talents.
